Being a dual US-Canadian national has helped me to develop an appreciation of the nuances of different cultures in international marketing and business. I attended university in both the US and Canada. At Northern Michigan University, near the Hiawatha Forest in the Upper Peninsula on the shores of Lake Superior, I taught full time before moving back to the Independence, Ohio area to teach at IWU. My courses included such topics as International Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Services Marketing, Introduction to Marketing, and Advanced Business Strategy. Since NMU is in an isolated Northern area, every student at the university is given a laptop and we did a lot of work on the Internet in the classroom, keeping connected to the outside world. The town where NMU is located (Marquette, Michigan) is a charming little university town where there is a dog-sled race every February and where there is often over 178 inches of snow each year. Brrr!
I am truly glad to be back next door to my daughter and near my sisters in Northeast, Ohio. And I am especially thankful for the chance to serve the hard-working students attending Indiana Wesleyan University. I am very blessed to be here with all of you in this very positive Christian learning environment. I welcome the opportunity to serve you, service that will allow me to show my gratitude for the kind watch Jesus Christ has keep over me for so many years. God has showered me with many experiences and a rich education. And only by sharing God’s gifts do they have meaning beyond just being a list of credentials on a barren sheet of paper. By allowing me to serve you, my gifts from God come to life and allow me to show my gratitude to Jesus Christ and his Mother Mary.
